Sun Oct 5th
Hi everyone, we have been in Sacramento since Sept 29th at Stillman’s RV park right in the city, actually in the middle of the HOOD, so I’ve been told! The park seems to be secure, it is gated well. We chose it because we were meeting our airstream friends here while they were visiting two of their children who live nearby. Not too nearby!!! They live in a beautiful gated development on a lake. The week has been delightful. Lowell’s daughter Cindy was a massage therapist and Norm was looking forward to trading, they had done that once before when we were together. She also took all of us to a Chinese foot massage place where we all had one hour foot massages. That was wonderful!!
All week they have been pampering us, cooking for us and taking us to wonderful restaurants. Lowell’s son David’s wife is Chinese, and yesterday she took us to a dim sum house for lunch. I really enjoyed going there and it was especially nice because she helped us with all the food choices! Norm and I had been to one in San Francisco 6 years ago and we were completely lost. For those of you who have never been to one, they bring carts of food around to your table and you take what you would like and they charge you for the dishes you take. Not being familiar with Chinese food we didn’t have a clue what most of the dishes were, this is why it was so special to have HELP.
The weather here could not have been better, it as been in the low 80s and high 70s all week. We had just a little rain overnight last night.
Bev and Lowell pulled out this morning and are heading for San Diego, where we will meet up with them again in November.
Norm searched out a hot springs and decided he would take that in today, its 90 miles away so I chose to stay here and catch up on some blogging and correspondence.
My email still won’t send messages but I can receive them and happily look forward to hearing from you all. You are my link to home, and I miss you! I did discover I could send email at Davids. He has broadband, so I have come to the conclusion that the wifi I am getting just isn’t strong enough to send.
We are both excited. Our son Jim is coming to visit next weekend. He will be in Seattle for work and will fly into San Francisco on Thursday night and stay with us until Sunday. We decided to move to San Francisco for the visit, he could have come most anywhere we were, as long as we were near an airport. It is Fleet Week there next weekend and there will be all kinds of navy ships in the bay and the Blue Angels will be flying overhead. I am going to try to get reservations to go to Alcatraz as I’ve been told that’s a good place to watch the action.
